Quran classes for families in Wales

Most of Wales's Muslim community lives in the south, in Cardiff, Newport and Swansea, but many families are spread across the valleys, west Wales and the north coast, where the nearest Quran class can be a long drive on mountain roads. A live online teacher brings the lesson to your kitchen table instead.

Wales sits west of London, so sunset in Cardiff comes more than ten minutes later than in London on the same day, which slightly shifts Maghrib and the best after-school lesson slots.

For a family in Aberystwyth, Bangor or Brecon, the nearest regular Quran class may be in another town altogether. Online lessons give children in rural Wales the same daily structure as children in Cardiff, and parents can sit in on every lesson from home.

Planning lessons around school and salah in Wales

Welsh schools follow a calendar close to England's, with summer holidays from late July. For families in Welsh-medium schools, a short online lesson is an easy way to fit Quran study into an already bilingual week.

Welsh schools usually break up in late July and return in early September. In Cardiff, Maghrib moves from 16:05 in late December to 21:33 in late June; in Ramadan 2027, expected to begin around 8 February, iftar runs from about 17:12 to 18:05.

Questions from families in Wales

Can my child learn alongside Welsh-medium school?

Yes. Lessons are taught in English and last 30 minutes, so they sit comfortably alongside a Welsh-medium school day. Many children manage three languages perfectly well when each has its own time.

Is there a Quran centre in Wales I can visit?

No, we teach online only; our registered address is in Birmingham.
