How to take online Quran classes with us
Online Quran classes with us are live, one-to-one video lessons with your own teacher. Here is exactly what happens from your first message to your regular weekly lessons.
Step 1: Book your free trial
Fill in the free trial form or message us on WhatsApp, any time of day. We need to know who is learning (you or your children), your name, email and WhatsApp number, and whether you would prefer a male or female teacher.
We then contact you on WhatsApp to agree lesson times in UK time and confirm the platform you want to use.
Step 2: Your first lesson
You receive a link for Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams. In the first lesson your teacher listens to you or your child read, works out the right starting point and begins teaching straight away. Nobody needs to prepare anything in advance.
The first three days are free. They are real lessons with the teacher you would keep, so you can judge the teaching properly.
Step 3: Choose a plan
If you want to continue, choose two to five lessons a week. Plans and the sibling discount are on our pricing page. You keep the same teacher and time slot, and you can change the number of days as your routine changes.
What a lesson looks like
Most lessons follow a simple pattern:
- A quick recap of what was covered last time.
- Recitation of the previous lesson so the teacher can check it.
- New material: letters, a new page, new tajweed rules or a new portion to memorise.
- Correction as you read, so mistakes are fixed while they are fresh.
- What to practise before the next lesson.

What you need
- A laptop or tablet. A phone works, but a bigger screen makes the Arabic easier to follow.
- A microphone and, ideally, headphones.
- Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams, whichever you already use.
- A stable internet connection and a quiet space, with a parent nearby for young children.
- A Qaida or mushaf, printed or on screen. Your teacher will tell you which edition to use.
Lesson times and UK time
All lessons are booked in UK time. Families often choose early mornings before school, straight after school, evenings or weekends. For how we keep children safe during lessons at home, read our safeguarding page.
Questions
Do I need a webcam?
Your teacher mainly needs to hear you clearly, so a good microphone matters most. Video helps the teacher see the page you are reading from, especially with young children.
Can a parent watch the lesson?
Yes. A parent is welcome to sit in on any lesson. For young children we recommend it.
What if the internet drops during a lesson?
Rejoin using the same link. If the connection keeps failing, message us and we will help you find a fix or rearrange.
Can I change my teacher?
Yes. If a teacher is not the right fit, tell us and we will arrange a different one.
Do lessons move when the clocks change?
No. Lessons are booked in UK time, so a lesson at 5pm stays at 5pm through the change between GMT and BST.
