Du‘as for mother and father have their own page: dua for parents. To understand the Arabic behind each word, see Arabic root words or our Quranic Arabic course; for all du‘as, our daily duas.
Frequently asked questions
How many Rabbana duas are in the Quran?
Lists usually count about 40 du‘as that begin with “Rabbana” (Our Lord), depending on how verses with several du‘as are counted. This page gives the best-known ones with their full verses.
Can I recite Rabbana duas in sujud?
Many scholars advise against reciting the Quran in ruku‘ and sujud, but allow Quranic du‘as said with the intention of supplication rather than recitation. Others prefer the du‘as of the Sunnah there. Outside salah, they can be said at any time.
What is the difference between “Rabbana” and “Rabbi”?
“Rabbana” means “Our Lord” and is a du‘a for yourself and others; “Rabbi” means “My Lord”. The Quran uses both.
