How to use the worksheets
- Say the name and sound of the letter before writing it; the sounds are in our guide to the Arabic alphabet.
- Trace the grey letters, starting from the right, following the shape in one movement where possible.
- Write it alone three or four times in the last column.
- Look at the joining forms: beginning, middle and end of a word. The six letters ا د ذ ر ز و only have two forms, because they never join to the next letter.
- Do one sheet a week alongside reading practice, then move on to the vowels in harakat.
For parents teaching at home, see how to teach Quran to your child at home. When your child is ready for a teacher, our Noorani Qaida course takes them from the letters to reading, one-to-one.
