Tips for using the timetable
- Never skip manzil to make room for sabaq. If time is short, reduce the new lesson, not revision; see how to revise hifz.
- Use the “mistakes” column. Write the page and line of every slip, and revise those first next day.
- Keep the weeks together in a folder so progress is visible to the student, parents and teacher.
- Estimate your timeline with the hifz planner, and read the method in how to memorise the Quran.
In our online hifz course, the teacher sets each week’s sabaq and manzil with you and checks every line. See also the benefits of memorising the Quran.
Frequently asked questions
How do I print the hifz timetable?
Press “Print timetable” and choose your printer, or “Save as PDF”. Only the timetable prints, on one A4 page, ready to fill in by hand each week.
What is the difference between sabaq, sabqi and manzil?
Sabaq is the new lesson, sabqi (sabaq para) is revision of recent pages, and manzil (dhor) is revision of everything memorised earlier. A good timetable has all three every day.
Who should sign the teacher column?
The teacher or parent who listened to the recitation. Signing each day keeps the student accountable and shows the teacher where mistakes recur.
