Dua after salah: the adhkar after prayer in order
The dua after salah begins with “Astaghfirullah” three times and “Allahumma antas-salam”, followed by the tasbih, Ayat al-Kursi and the three Quls. Here are the adhkar after prayer in order, in Arabic with transliteration, meaning and their hadith sources.

1. Seeking forgiveness, then peace
Immediately after the salam
“I seek Allah’s forgiveness (three times). O Allah, You are Peace and from You comes peace. Blessed are You, Owner of Majesty and Honour.”

“There is no god but Allah alone, without partner; His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He has power over all things. O Allah, none can withhold what You give, none can give what You withhold, and no one’s wealth avails him against You.”

SubhanAllah, Alhamdulillah, Allahu akbar
SubhanAllah (33), Alhamdulillah (33), Allahu akbar (33), then: La ilaha illallahu wahdahu la sharika lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu wa huwa ‘ala kulli shay’in qadir.
“Glory be to Allah (33), all praise is for Allah (33), Allah is the Greatest (33), then: there is no god but Allah alone, without partner; His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He has power over all things.”

Recite Ayat al-Kursi once, then Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq and An-Nas once (three times after Fajr and Maghrib). See the 4 Quls.
5. After Fajr
For knowledge, provision and accepted deeds
Allahumma inni as’aluka ‘ilman nafi‘an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa ‘amalan mutaqabbala.
“O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, good provision and accepted deeds.”

Stay seated for two minutes after each prayer and say these in order. Children can start with “Astaghfirullah” and the tasbih counted on the fingers of the right hand, as the Prophet ﷺ did. For the prayer itself, see how to pray salah; for more remembrance, morning and evening adhkar and our daily duas.
Frequently asked questions
Should I raise my hands for dua after every prayer?
The adhkar after prayer are said without raising the hands. Making a personal du‘a afterwards is allowed; scholars differ on making a group du‘a with raised hands after every fard prayer as a fixed practice.
What if I don’t have time for all of these?
Start with the first: “Astaghfirullah” three times and “Allahumma antas-salam…”. Then add the tasbih (33 each), which has a great reward: past sins forgiven even if like the foam of the sea (Sahih Muslim 597).
Is Ayat al-Kursi recited after every prayer?
Yes. Whoever recites it after every obligatory prayer, nothing prevents them entering Paradise except death (an-Nasa’i, as-Sunan al-Kubra 9848, graded sahih by many).
